The Children’s Mental Health Clinician is responsible for providing services related to the delivery of mental health care to assigned clients.

Qualifications:
Requirements:
Master’s degree from an accredited university in the field of psychology, social work, counseling education or related field
Ability to pass a drug screening and State of Alaska background check
Preferred:
Licensed in the State of Alaska to provide mental health services (LPC, LCSW, etc.)
Skills required:
A strong knowledge of the common diagnoses and treatments for school aged children and the skills necessary to facilitate positive change.
Adhere to the ethical guidelines of related profession and maintain current CEU’s
Ability to:
Build rapport with clients and staff
Utilize tools such as DSM 5 and ASAM with clients
Establish and maintain clear therapeutic boundaries
Work as a team member including accepting and providing supervision
Great written and verbal communication skills
Punctuality reporting to work and in delivery of direct services
Basic computer skills, internet skills and fluid use of electronic communication tools
Job responsibilities:
Provides direct mental health services to include intake assessment, individual/family/group therapy, and crisis intervention to assigned clients
Maintains regular contact with the parent/guardian of each client (if appropriate)
Completes master treatment plans, treatment plan updates, managed care authorizations and all chart requirements.
Furnishes required reports to Office of Children Services, legal system and other involved agencies, as necessary
Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings and clinical supervision at the corporate office
Participates in the collection of mental health information to be used for monitoring the overall performance and effectiveness of services provided
