Government Relations Associate APV is seeking a strategic and people-oriented Government Affairs Associate / Outreach & Events Manager to lead our relationship-building and stakeholder engagement efforts through dynamic, mission-aligned convenings. This role blends high-level outreach with creative event execution to foster bipartisan collaboration and deepen trust across the political spectrum. This is not a traditional events role — it’s about creating experiences that build relationships between Hill staffers, Members of Congress, nonprofit leaders, and other influential stakeholders, while advancing APV’s mission of unlocking pragmatic, cross-partisan policy progress. What You’ll Do: Serve as a relationship-builder-in-chief, proactively engaging with new and existing contacts to ensure events are well attended and deepen long-term trust. Develop and execute an outreach-driven events strategy that strengthens bipartisan ties and promotes APV’s cross-partisan mission. Lead event planning and logistics from start to finish, including securing venues, coordinating speakers, managing guest lists, and overseeing all event details. Represent APV at events, briefings, and other on-the-Hill events to maintain visibility and build goodwill with target audiences Craft creative and engaging event formats that foster dialogue and strengthen bipartisan ties. Set and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality experiences. Lead event promotion, including invitations, follow-ups, and post-event engagement. Establish and maintain systems for event planning and execution, ensuring scalability and efficiency. What We’re Looking For: Experience in event planning and execution, ideally in a political, nonprofit, or Capitol Hill context Deep understanding of Hill culture, political dynamics, and how to navigate bipartisan spaces with professionalism and warmth Creativity in event design and a knack for curating engaging, high-value convenings. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage high-level stakeholders with professionalism and warmth. A strategic mindset, with an ability to align events with broader organizational goals. A passion for bipartisan collaboration and a commitment to fostering pragmatic policy solutions.
