Geisinger is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Primary Care team in Pottsville, PA. This site qualifies for a $10k recruitment incentive. Geisinger Pottsville is 60 miles southwest of Scranton and 2 hours from Philadelphia. At Geisinger, you have an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on your patients’ lives with: Medically complex patients receive extended forty-minute appointments; twenty-minute appointments for patients with average complexity and acute care visits. Physician/APP panel sharing model. Daily huddles with care team members to review coordination of care. Pharmacists to assist with patient education and medication management. Care managers, health managers, clinic health associates and coding educators. Centralized prescription refill team. Nurse call center to assist with on-call workload (nursing home calls directed to Skilled Nursing Facility team). Epic EMR – universal throughout Geisinger with Ambient dictation. Increased access to care by means of eVisits, patient portals, Geisinger’s ConvenientCare urgent care clinics. Recruitment incentives up to $20k (at specific clinics) – 30-month work obligation with department (not applicable for internal, lateral transfer). Primary Care Architype model – stratifies onboarding, ramp-up, and practice into three tiers of increasing autonomy to ensure both new and experienced Advanced Practitioners get the support and professional satisfaction needed. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Advanced Practitioner must be able to see all age ranges from Pediatric (birth) to Geriatric. The successful Physician Assistant candidate will work under the responsibility and supervision of the physician and require completion of an ARC-PA (or predecessor organization) approved physician assistant program, current NCCPA certification or eligibility and Pennsylvania State licensure. The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position. Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA. Position Details: Education: Master's Degree-Nurse Practitioner (Required). Experience: Certification(s) and License(s): Basic Life Support Certification, Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania). Skills: Care Management Knowledge, Clinical Policies And Standards, Health Information Documentation, Patient Assessment And Care, Patient Safety, Patients Rights.
