Job Overview Mariani Lanscape is currently seeking top talent to join our team as a Seasonal Color Specialist. This position is responsible for meeting client needs by offering high quality seasonal color design, installation and maintenance services for residential and commercial clients at our Westmont branch.
Responsibilities and Duties The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Follow company policies, procedures, and work standards.
- Design seasonal color displays: beds, containers, and holiday dcor.
- Assist client representatives with seasonal color and container sales: meet with clients, prepare visual aids, enter proposals in sales software, etc.
- Assist with seasonal color installations on-site: supervise installation crews, layout plant material, water, etc.
- Perform occasional seasonal color maintenance: deadhead, prune, water, fertilize, etc.
- Consistently evaluate work and determine if further steps are needed to meet internal and external client expectations.
- Maintain high standard of quality of all work performed.
- Communicate problems, client concerns, associate matters, etc. to the appropriate Manager in a timely manner.
- Participate in departmental trainings, meetings and other various responsibilities in our Westmont and Lake Bluff offices.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
- Arrive for each workday on time and prepared.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Participate in and contribute to Mariani initiatives.
- Assist other team members in the performance of their assignments.
- Recommend process improvements and areas to improve our service offerings to clients.
- Participate in other departmental and business functions as needed (i.e. the snow removal process in emergencies, holiday retail, administrative support, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements - Previous experience in the landscape/horticulture field, associate's degree in horticulture or related field, or completion of college-level horticulture courses desired.
- Knowledge of annual flowers, perennials, and basic plant biology is required.
- Demonstrate strong design skills, knowledge of color theory, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions year-round.
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate.
- Ability to collaborate with associates and teams from different departments.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with Mariani associates and clients.
- Ability to deliver quality results under tight deadlines.
- Ability to learn and eventually use, with success and accuracy, the company software (Aspire) and systems for estimating and designing.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and general computer functions.
- Demonstrate accountability for work being performed and completed on schedule.
- Valid driver's license required. Position requires driving company provided vehicle to job sites.

Position Range:
$60,000 - $70,000
