Impact

As a Security Engineer on our Network and Endpoint Security team, youll be instrumental in building secure, reliable, and scalable systems across Shipt. Youll help design and maintain secure infrastructure, develop tools for automating threat detection and response, and work closely with teams including IT Operations, Identity and Access Management, Infrastructure, and our Security Operations Center. Youll leverage tools such as CrowdStrike EDR, mobile device management platforms, Prisma Cloud, and Google Cloud security services to strengthen Shipts security posture.

Impact

As a Security Engineer on our Network and Endpoint Security team, youll be instrumental in building secure, reliable, and scalable systems across Shipt. Youll help design and maintain secure infrastructure, develop tools for automating threat detection and response, and work closely with teams including IT Operations, Identity and Access Management, Infrastructure, and our Security Operations Center. Youll leverage tools such as CrowdStrike EDR, mobile device management platforms, Prisma Cloud, and Google Cloud security services to strengthen Shipts security posture.

What Youll Need to Be Successful

• 2+ years of software development experience with a focus on secure and reliable systems.
• You have a proactive mindset toward security in every stage of the development lifecycle
• You are able to automate reporting and other tasks using security tool APIs and/or scripting with Python, JavaScript, Go, Bash
• You are familiar with infrastructure-as-code tools and practices
• You are proficient with version control tools (Git/GitHub)
• You have experience securing cloud infrastructure (GCP/AWS/Azure)
• You have a strong understanding of network concepts, firewalls, and security frameworks
• You understand and have experience with endpoint protection solutions
• You have experience working with SIEM platforms and log analysis tools
• You are passionate about continual learning and mastering new skills
• You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to simplify complex ideas
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• You have a collaborative spirit, with an interest in both learning from and mentoring peers

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. Employees will also be eligible to receive discretionary vacation for exempt team members, paid holidays throughout the calendar year and paid sick leave. Other compensation includes eligibility for an annual bonus and the potential for restricted stock units based on role.

Pay Range

Metro Areas of Boston, District of Columbia, Seattle and New York City:

$75,900-$151,700

Metro Areas Of Los Angeles And San Francisco

$118,657.43-$151,700

All other locations:

$63,100-$126,300

Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
